I just got my new EGR valve from the fiero store today. It came with a bunch of reducing washers for the intake, and a chart showing which washer to use for which GM part no. your replacing. One small problem. The unit I'm replacing is not original, and the OEM part no. was never written on the label. These units look identical, and the one I took off had no washer, but I really don't want to trust that someone did it right before me. If anyone has the original GM part no., or has installed one of these and knows which washer to use, please help.

ok, after scouring the web for a couple hours, I find three GM stamping #s for the 2.8 egr valve - 17110771, 17110813, and 17085897. Of those three, only 17085897 shows up on the orifice washer chart. The washer it's telling me to use seems too small. On the other hand, the chart doesnt go any higher than 17091064. If someone can give me a hand here, I would really appreciate it.

Here's some more info on V6 EGR part numbers. The original production V6 EGR valve part number is 17085897 (matches the number on my V6 engine). The service EGR valve part number is 17110813 (From Pontiac P22 manual).
Checking the AC Delco web site, a total of three different part numbers are listed for V6 Fieros. Two of the parts cross to the GM part numbers listed above. The web site does not provide info if any of the valve are universal, which would require the use of reducing washers.

The number stamped on the body of the original valve is 17085897. I have the same EGR replacement from the Fiero Store. Chart matches to Orifice washer #11.
