We are putting an 88 2.8 in an 88 originally with a 2.5. I have searched and found some info discribing the routing (even recent) but none answer my question.

Of the two heater hoses that run together in the center of the car along the tank, one goes to the coolant pipe on teh right (passenger side) of the car. I *think* the other one connects to the thermostat housing.

Is this correct? If not how? If so how is it routed?

Pics would be great but not nessesary.

Thanks!

You guessed right. The second heater hose goes up the firewall, and to the thermostat neck.

As a matter of fact, you can re-use part of the 4-cyl heater hose with the V6. On the '87-88 4-cyl, the second heater hose runs along the frame rail (under the battery) and around the trunk wall to the intake manifold. You can cut that pipe, and slip the V6 heater hose over it. The place to cut the pipe is on the firewall, about an inch or so below the top of the frame rail. In that section, the pipe should be metal.

If you can find an 87 V6 car, the heater hose routing should be the same as the 88.
I think the earlier cars are a bit different.
