I am going to put on my valve covers on the 3.4L OHV in my Fiero and I don't want to use silicone.

I have nice rubber Fel Pro valve cover gaskets and clean surfaces on everything.

The valve covers are aftermarket Edelbrock all cleaned up, the Lower intake, and cylinder heads are very clean from being rebuilt/remachined/cleaned with no oil yet.

Do you think it would be safe to assemble the valve covers without silicone in this situation?

Thanks.

If the Fel-pro gaskets are for the stock fiero covers, they probably won't work with the Edelbrock covers. The Edelbrocks are (I think) designed for flat gaskets, like the cork ones that come in the top engine gasket pack.
