Is their a difference in the size of the pulley on an alternator for a 1988 V6 versus a 2.5l duke? If so how big of a difference is it and will it cause a problem with the belt tension?

Thanks

If your talking same year (or even 87) then no difference in pulley size. Output amps may be different though.
Earlier year 4 bangers use a V belt.

Don't know about the pulley size but they look different in these pictures from a rebuilder's site. The mounting ears are no doubt different.

edit: The 5-groove pulley (V6) is slightly larger (62 mm) than the 6-groove (57 mm).
