I have a 82 Firebird with the 2.5l I4 (TBI) and have tried the camaro and s10 boards but nobody has some answers for me

Cylinder Heads, will a Jeep header flage line up correctly with the exhaust ports?

Is the later iron duke head-swap a direct bolt on?

and are there any aluminum intake manifolds that can fit the iron duke?

The jeep head is different.. not sure about an 82 duke this should be the same pattern on the 84 to 86 fiero, headers are available you could try a want to buy WTB on the MALL here, these are rare for sale, but pop up occasionally..

the S-10 head will not work

The only performance intake for the duke you have is the holley, this thing is great, fantastic, especially when teamed with the performance T B I, your chances of finding one?? jessica simpson will leave romo and come to be your love slave first

Your best bet would be to swap an 91 S 10 duke,, the ecm would be a major hassle to adapt,, Im not sure if you have a carb or tbi
Your best performance option is to buy another firebird or camaro with a V6 or V8 it is difficult and expensive to extract power from the duke, but with the public demanding $4.00 a gallon gas ,,might be a good idea to go with performance ignition if you want to keep engine you have!!

yes fbodys did come with 4 cyls 82-86, nobody talks of them cause there the bastard child of the platform, i just got one for a beater but its kind of rare so i'm going to hang onto it and freshen up the engine for next winter this summer

the car is a single injector TBI

I was looking into purchasing a shorty header designed for a _____ engine/car because they can be found for under $100 and my exhaust manifold is kind of messed up

so to word it better, does the 84+ fiero share the same exhaust port pattern as any V8 engines? thanks

I have heard the Jeep Dukes are the same, but they did have a different 4 cylinder. Best bet is to look at the valve cover. If it's the same goofy cut then it's probably the same. Clifford Reasearch makes headers if that's what you are after.

Now as far as intakes there are a few. There is the Holley TBI and the Edelbrock TBI intakes. Both are great but use different approaches. The Edelbrock is a dual plane intake with small ports to keep the intake velocity up. There is also the Offenhauser intake that can take either a 2 or 4bbl plate. This intake comes in two versions. Single and dual plane. I have had both but haven't run either. Then there are the Super Duty Intakes. There are a few different ones out there. There are 2bbl, 4bbl, Weber's, and individual port injection(I am still trying to figure out how to make mine EFI). Now when using Super Duty intake you MUST use the Super Duty intake gaskets. And yes these intakes will work on a stock Duke. And yes I have done it with no problems. Check out my site for more info and pics. There is a pic of an IMSA Fierbird and the Super Duty engine it had in it.

Are the edelbrock or offenhauser manifolds available stick man??? I thought they were as rare as the super duty holley intake ..Of course the holley is rare because people do not sale them.. I think the jeep duke has the exhaust port on the opposite side..

The Edelbrock TBI may be the rarest of the bunch. But luckily I have one. The Offy is not that rare. They can be found on Ebay. But I regularly see them at the Carlisle swap meets for cheaper than Ebay prices. $100-$150. The Super Duty's pop up too. Have seen them at Carlisle ffor $200. In fact I bought a Valve cover, 4bbl intake and "801" all for $800 and all brand new. As for the Jeep engine You may be thinking of the 153 engine not the newer 151 Duke. There were jeeps with the same Iron Duke as used in the S-10's. Problem is alot have been taken out for bigger engines. Much like the the Duke Fierbirds.

I purchased a CJ 7 new in 1983, it was a GM 4cyl Duke engine. My 1988 Jeep Cherokee was an AMC 151, but there were some built with the GM 151. All were refered to as 2.5's.
