Well, after 20 years and 203,000 miles, the old 4Tech Iron Duke has seen it's better days. My mechanic friend suggested a Jasper engine. I understand that Ed Parks buys his from Grooms. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks,
Larry

Hey Larry. I went shopping around for one when before I decided to do the rebuild. I'd find brand new/ reman engines, crated and wrapped, every now and then on ebay. I also just did a google search and found some hits that way. Jasper isnt a bad way to go though.

If it's the same guy, he has a Fiero 2.5 on e-bay right now (1987, but he should be easy to contact):

I'm looking for a long block. I priced one online at the Jasper website Whew!!! $$$$ Then I talked to a salesman at Grooms. The Grooms quote was $1000 less than the Jasper price. Jasper has a 3-yr/100-000 mi. Parts/Labor warranty - Grooms has an 18-mo./unlimited mi. Parts/Labor warranty, and offers a Lifetime Replacement Warranty for $149.

Since I don't intend to ever sell my Coupe, the Grooms engine sounds pretty good to me. Might be time to go break open the piggy bank and see what's inside...
