4t65e-hd trans what will it bolt up to by chevypro101

Ok I bought a new 4t65e-hd transmission.. I know they will bolt up to the 3.8, but is there any other engine they will bolt on to?? I'am doing a swap in my 88 and was just wondering

The LS4 5.3 V8 is paired with that tranny. Other LSx engines would need an adapter plate because of different bell housing bolt patterns.

Pretty much any motor that will bolt to a fiero transmission.

Where did you go to buy a new 4t65e-HD transmission? Do you mean new to you or brand new?

Before you get to far into your swap, you better check the code on the trans to see what year/model it is.

Its new still has gm plugs in axle holes, and new convertor, and it came on a gm stackable pallet made for the trans.. I bought from a guy In NJ from ebay who bought I believe 14 of these 4t65e-hd transmissions from a closing gm parts dealer... It was made in 2005 or 2006 I need to check the tag.. But the valve body is set up for paddle shift.. Witch I was told it could be replace with a non-paddle shift valve body from 97 ish up.. Iknow he's going to list a few more this summer he had 4 left when I got mine the end of last summer...
