My mechanic just fixed my fieor today and put a new emergency brake piece on. ANyhow he said that fiero's are tricky and that there is a certain way to set the emergency brake. I can not figure it out. ANy help here would be greatly appreciated.

The only trick that I can think of is, pull the emergency handle back to set the emergency break and bring it back down. To release it you pull it back again and press on the release handle and bring it back down again. When I had my engine rebuilt the shop couldn’t drive it, they call me to come over because they tough I had a serious problem. The shop mention that the car was stuck it was kind of funny and they felt so dumb when they saw me release the emergency break.

depending on the year model you have you will either have a brake cable assmbly under the rear muffler (84-87 Fieros) or inside the K-Frame railing in back of the Cat. (88 Fiero).

In either case, the adjustment procedure is the same; you have an adjustment wheel that is about 6 inches long and shaped like a metal frame tube. At one end is a nut (15mm if memory serves). You want to hold the wheel with a set of pliers and tighten or loosen the nut as necessary to increase or reduce tention on the cables.
