I have removed my two front crossmember truss supports. ('84 SE) They go at an angle from the crossmember forward. I think I've got their location right but I removed them quite a while ago, and I can't remember for sure. I know, it's bad; I may have to ask for a little help as I'm putting it back together. I hope I learn my lesson this time. Anyway...

My question is if they are supposed to be bent. They both have a bend in them which is quite similar on either piece, but it's not identical. They're not made of flimsy steel so I don't see how they could have bent in some sort of collision. The rest of the frame is not bent at all, and my old crossmember was intact though rusted. I'll try to post pics on here. I did it once before w/ someone's help. Maybe someone could help me w/ that again.

My question therefore is: are they supposed to be bent?

Here they are. Thanks Xanth. Though by the time I saw your message I'd already used the other one.

Yep, they're buckled, probably from a front end collision.

If you want new ones, Rodney Dickman makes them.

Select "Exterior" then "Fiero Radiator Braces"

Awesome. Thanks guys. What seems weird to me is that I don't see any distortion in the steel where it mounts to the frame and I don't remember seeing anything on the crossmember. I already sent it to the Fierostore for the core refund. If one were bent I would think maybe someone put a jack under it. Has anyone seen this before?

bump
has anyone seen this before? My best guess is misplaced shop lift arms, especially considering that both my long coolant tubes are kinked.
