I am doing an Archie kit Small Block Chevy swap in my GT. (Actualy a 383 stroker)

I think I will use the Corvette Rams Horn exhaust manifolds to avoid the cracking of the Sanderson Headers. Can anyone tell me what year cast iron Corvette Ram's Horns I need?

Thanks Guys.

there are some aftermarkets that fieroguru uses and they are the best but i think the late 70's early 80's vettes are the best 2.5 in downpipe. I do think they do well porting them helps a lot from what I hear. Enjoy the v8.

Here are the aftermarket version cited above. If you are running a manual tranny, these work. I have never checked fitment with an auto.

Mine are from a 1965 Vette. There is a company that sells them for $75.00 each. They won't rot away like the headers and don't get as hot.

You either can buy stock Ram's Horn exhaust manifolds from these folks, or if you'd prefer them to port them, Brzezinski Racing Products, Inc., has been doing this for years for the small-block Chevy.

Incidentally, what they do in porting the ram's horn manifolds is described here:
http://www.castheads.com/co...ystems.php#manifolds . Basically, they open up the stock-sized ports (1.260" x 1.315") by roughly a third to 1.48" x 1.48."

One can contact them at 866-236-6300 or at http://www.castheads.com

Good luck with your project.

If you need a set of the ram horns I have a set I would be willing to sell. The only reason I am getting rid of them is because I am making my own headers for my project. PM me if interested

1963 to 1966 Corvettes have 2.5 outlets. These are the ones I've used on my 3 swaps. Other years of Corvette had 2.5" outlets and some years used smaller 2" and 2-14" outlets. I'm not sure of the other years but I do know the 63-66's work well.

Also, some older late 60's early 70's trucks used 2.5" outlet Rams Horns as well. I really love the re-pro ones being made now. I recently saw a set made out of cast stainless that looked great. Lot's of options out there now.

Thanks for all the replies. I will order a set of the repro rams horns and go from there. No porting for me as I can not justify the cost and I already fear for my transmission so I do not need any more hp.
