I've got a gas gauge problem. It don't work!!

The car's an 86 Notchie, with a V-6 and automatic transmission. The gauge works, and the sender works, too. What I'm really looking for is a wiring diagram that would help me trace the gas gauge signal wire from the sender through the wiring harness to the instrument panel.

Can anybody out there give me a hand??

I can help you. Just give me a little time to scan the pages in for you. There are multiple diagrams for this.

Ok....first, the connectors. Connector C502 is in the engine compartment along the firewall here...

Next is the gauge cluster wiring....you want the C3 connector on the left side, terminal 7

This diagram gives you the resistance values for a full tank and empty tank on terminal 7 on the pink wire.

The routing is pretty straight forward....

And the test procedure....

So the key wire is the pink wire that goes from terminal 7 at the gauges to the C502 connector at the rear.

Hopefully this helps.
