I just did this, some folks say you can get them out, I had to take the motor apart. You'll have to take the nut off of the shaft, take the bolts out of the motor cover, and carefully take it apart. Assemble in reverse........... Use some string to hold the brushes in, put a dab of grease on the shaft to hold the roller ball in place. After you geet it all together you will have to adjust the thrust nut. I had a hell of time getting my motors to work right until I adjusted the nut. Scott
