I got my Borla s/s exhaust system back that I had on my previous GT and I'll be having installed on my current one soon. I ordered Rodney's s/s exhaust hangers and now I need some s/s clamps. I came across these band clamps at Jegs and they look much better than standard clamps. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/...0002_753274_-1_11527
Any opinions?

I used them one time with a rear mounted supercharged rotary set-up. I chose them at that time because I was testing pre-silencers and different mufflers. Rotaries run much hotter exhaust and I wanted that "changability" factor to help tune the motor. No complaints, they took the heat, and sealed tight. Just make sure you're ordering the proper size so they clamp down tight and of course, make sure you've got your supporting hangers in place.

I love those style of clamps. The stepped design is far superior to the previous style bandclamps that were uniform size all the way across. I've done a ton of header and exhaust installs on f-bodies, and I haven't had any problems with these new, stepped clamps leaking, like the older ones had. I usually coat the inside of the clamp and the tightening studs with Anit-sieze, which helps them not to sieze up, and also aids in sealing against leaks.

I'm waiting for a Paypal invoice from Rodney for the s/s hangers and would you mind telling me what size band clamps do I need for the stock exhaust? The Borla is the same diameter as the stock system. I was thinking I need either the 2" or 2 1/4"?

I used some like those on my exhaust system. Here is an old picture of one of them installed after the cat. They work real good.

I would say 2 inch Marc.

i was having trouble with keeping those old clamps tight enough to keep exhaust leaks at bay. i finally had it ironed out about a week before i started taking the car apart..... typical

those new ones should definately help.

what did you need hangers for, did i forget to give you something?

Thanks for chiming in Jason! I wonder why it was leaking?
The hangers are attached to the car under the rear bumper at each corner. Mine are rusting off!
So no....you didn't forget anything Happy Holidays!
