For this new project, I want to keep a stock-looking hood yet still vent the underhood pressure to eliminate the hovercraft effect.

Right now the easiest looks like drilling out holes, maybe 2 1/2", under the headlights. Second option is to go thru the plastic either side of the spare tire and use flex-hose to go into the wheel wells.

Anybody tried either--or relieved the pressure without hood venting ?

I remember a few years ago someone running vents thru the headlight area to the wheel wells because they wanted to keep the hood stock. I will see if I can find the archived thread and post a link.

How about running two ducts; maybe 4" dia from the radiator area to somewhere below and and near the middle of the car? The wheel wells and in front of the windshield are high pressure areas so they may not work well. Im not sure if my under the car idea will work?

you doNOT want to vent air into the area under the car
as that will add to lift esp if added to the front area
in general you want as little air under the car as possible
thats the why behind chin spoilers

the curved hood vent as used on a ford GT
and copyed by many on Fiero's
is a wing inbedded in the car
and will make downforce in addition to venting traped air
and is a win-win for air flow at speed

Question wonder and be wierd
are you kind?

I would consider making some ducting that routes it to the wheels.

That application is what I had in mind at one point also. The little plastic vents can be gotten from the wrecker for virtually nothing. And, it is a nice subtle touch.
