i smoked my intake and found im leaking smoke at either side of the throttle body where the shaft runs thru. is there any way to fix this? i was thinking of removing the throttle cable holder and tps arm and throwing a rubber washer and some lube up in there.

It is designed to leak a little. That way the butterfly valve won't bind. The IAC valve controls the rest of the air bypass to set the idle speed.
I tried to fix this leak myself, but the IAC just opened more and the leak repair had no effect. Don't worry about it.
Is your idle too high?

there is a felt bushing on the throttle blade shaft - it maybe dried or gone.

i figured the leak wasnt going to affect the ecm since the map sensor is well after the tb. i was checking my egr tube with the smoke machine and just happened to notice it.. i did dissasemble an old tb and saw the felt bushing so i greased the felt thing/the whole shaft to kinda plug the holes with sylglide and it does seem to run better even with the egr leaking at the diaphram/hose.
