I have a 350 vortec carb. engine in a 88 formula im fairly sure a stock 195 thermostat has been used in the conversion. If so I was wondering if there is any reason as long as I stay with a carb why I cant use a 160 thermostat to help keep engine bay temps down?

Worked fine in mine. In fact I use 160* in everything with no problems at all. Even heaters work just fine in winter. Some say it uses more gas, but I havent noticed a significant diff myself.
