Just bought a Fiero that already had an NA 3800 swapped into it. The way the person who installed it fabricated the mount to the engine side only using 1 of the intake bolts to hold it to the engine. Well as you could have guessed, it broke from the engine torque. How do you NA guys have your dogbone mounts hooked up. I see the SC guys have theirs basically in the stock location but my alternator is there.

From what Ive seen, one option is to move or remove the stock Fiero Dog bone bracket and fabricate a new one.I would allso, look in the phone book for bolts, these places sell high grade super strong bolts.

Here is a pic to help you visualize it. The right side dogbone mount in the pic only mounts to one wimpy little intake bolt. I cant believe the person who did this actually thought it would hold.

I was thinking I could actually fabricate a mount to bolt to the back of the alternator since there are mounting holes for the alternator in the back. The alternator seems to be on a big beefy bracket so I think it could handle the torque. It would just mean the dogbone would have to be mounted sideways.
The only other idea I can come up with is to mount it on the actual cradle itself on the other side of the engine and then bolt it to the engine in front of the starter.

when i first did my swap i decided that having 2 extra mounts at the bottom of the engine would suffice and i wouldnt need a dog bone mount. I was wrong. With a 3800 NA you might be ok, but with the L67 it torques so hard even with 5 lower engine mounts, the cv boots would hit the subframe. I ended up making one out of billet aluminum. Its 3" wide and 1" thick and is the most rediculous thing you have ever seen. I broke one i made out of 1/8" aluminum and was tig welded together. The new one is pure nasty. Wish i could find a pic.
