I am replacing my a/c compressor on my 86-2.8-SE,it is a rebuilt unit. I have heard that the dryer and orifice tube should be also. I have looked for the location of the tube and could not find one. Does mine use one ? and if it does where is it,and how do I replace it.

Thanks Bob

The filings in the orifice tube is evidence that your compressor has hand-grenaded. Before you put the hoses back on your new compressor, pour flush into the hose up front toward the driver's side of where you found the orifice tube. Use shop air to blow it back through the line and into a bucket. do this 2-3 times until nothing comes out!! (Except flush, of course!)

you're gonna have to replace your condensor as well. its hard to get that flushed out completely. if you dont do this, it may void your new compressor warranty. if you dont want to buy a new condensor AT LEAST put an in line filter in there.
