Good news, I smoked a modded Subaru AWD STI Tubro
Band news...
Shifted a little too hard I guess, transmission mount twisted and snapped a piece off the tranny off, engine torque and hit the deck lid cracking it, and somehow ripped half my belt off which sliced a rubber coolent line....

So whats the best way to fix the transmission case, or should I make a new mount/bracket and have to bolt to a different location? The car is a 3800SC 87GT 5 Speed.

Thanks, Ryan

Is the piece that broke aluminum or steel? How are your welding skills?

I'm guessing it's cast aluminum, its a 5 speed getrag tranny. I can mig and tig weld pretty good, but have never welded cast. Hopfully I can find someone at work to weld cast for me. Trying to get the car track ready by the 11th, and it's not looking good. Still working out all the loose ends.

I Mig welded the cast aluminum lower intake manifold on my car so I know it is doable. 100% argon shielding gas, clean (most important) and pre-heat the pieces, then have at it. You can Tig weld so you should be able to make it stronger than new.
