With small 1.5" primary, unequal length, short headers and some tuning my stock northstar put 300.5hp to the rear wheels with the 5spd getrag trans. I am rebuilding the engine now with only higher compression headgaskets, porting and pollishing, valve springs, and 1.75" primary long tube equal length headers, so we'll see what kind of gains those have in store.

I believe ryans car dynoed at 256WHP and he is using a stock northstar with a larger throttle body and the 4t80e transmission I dynoed 300.5WHP through a getrag using one of ryans computers (excellent product). That may be where the confusion has come from.

Zac88GT are you just going to clean up the ports or are you sending the heads out to some one with a flow bench and having a pro port them when you get it all done pleas let us know how much HP it makes i would say you have about 350HP at the crank now if you are 300 WHP due to loos HP through the trany

For the porting i've D shaped the exhaust port, knife edged the intake divider, removed the sharp ridge from under the exhaust and intake valve seats (the ridges under the intakes were HUGE) and smoothed out the intake runners. The engine should be running sometime in september hopefully, but it wont be driveable then. It'll probably take me another few months to complete the 6spd swap. I will definatly post the results when i return to the dyno. I'm hopeing to see 350hp at the wheels this time but i guess we'll see how it goes.
