Try a local upholstery shop - a place here had a "sampler" board with a piece that looked like the stock fiero / GM gray. It's also a cheaper grade, so it might no cost you too much ....

Well, every place sell uniform color cutpile for the Fiero. This one is absolutly not like our floormat style and color. And in the other "style", like 80/20 loop , nylon loop etc they dont have the right color combinaison for our interior.
Why is that? does only the Fiero have this style of carpet in GMs line of vehicules?
Ive made a "new product request " on the Auto Custom Carpets accmats.com ... We will see what they will respond.
I really wonder why no aftermarket repro exist....

lollll .... the reply from ACCMAT is this one (Ive sent a picture of my car interior with my email)...:
Dear Sir: I researched this with our Product Development department. The Pontiac Fiero only came in one original color and that was black cut pile. We do not offer a salt and pepper carpet for the 1986 Pontiac Fiero.
I tryed to get the Fiero salt & pepper carpet a year ago and had no luck...I call ACC and they said they used to sell it but discontinued it a few years ago
Do you think they told me that the only color available from them is black or they hope that I will believe that the Fiero originally came with black floormat?
As you guys have already figured out....They don't make the salt&pepper (Thats the name of a music group from the 80's right?) carpet anymore. If they did you would see a lot more knock offs of floor mats. I am sure you can find the carpet in a junk yard. Good luck!

The carpet does not exist new anymore either. That stuff is pretty durable, so your best bet is to find one that's still in good shape but just needs cleaning. When I stripped my parts car it had been sitting out in the rain for years and the backing on the carpet looked brand new. I don't know what they treat that stuff with but it's very mold resistant.
