I'm curious where the wiring is that makes the seat belt light come on if your not wearing it
I never had a working blue dingy in all the Fieros I've owned and never really wanted one because of the dinging if the doors were open. After killing my battery a while back when I left my parking lights on I figured I better put one in and live with it! I installed this one I got in a parts lot at e-bay. It's not blue but works great!

I always use my seat belt but I never knew that with this installed the seat belt light will come on and stay lit until you put it on! How does it know? I don't remember any wiring going to the seat belt harness?

Not really sure how it knows. Maybe something in the retractor mechanism? One thing though, at least on my 86 GT, the light only stays on like 10 seconds if you start the car without your belt on, then goes off. I was looking for info about the seatbelt warning light a while ago, and didn't find much. My issue turned out to be a bad bulb holder on the instrument cluster.

Mine stays on until I put it on! This dingy is missing one prong compared to some blue ones that I have that no longer work but I don't see any difference yet. It doesn't ding if my door is open which I like. Maybe that's the difference?

There's a switch in the seat belt retractor that triggers the blue dingy thingy to turn on the seat belt light.
