Welcome to the forum.

The heater box when unbolted will come out from the front in the spare tire area not through the interior.

You do have to remove the ducting and control cable and wiring from the inside under dash area but it's bolted to the firewall from the front.

Steve,

Thanks for your note.

I have the box unbolted and have tried to remove the box from the front not from the inside. It appears to get stuck on the cover case top. I will try to remove that to see if it clears without the cover case attached. Anything that I am missing?

Steve,

I followed your advice below:

- unbolted heater box from the front in the spare tire area

- remove the ducting (top left side and by the heater core on the side), control cable and wiring from the inside under dash area

The box moves forward but does not want to come out. Do I need to remove anything else?

Thanks

Mike,

Sorry it took so long to respond, been a busy week.

If you have to, use a mirror to look all the way around the inside and front side of the box to make sure it's all disconnected and nothing is hanging up.

I don't recall how it has to tilt if at all to come out forward into the spare tire area.

Sorry I can't be of more help but LMK what you find.
