I just remove a sunroof seal and I saw that it have plenty of "contact glue" and specifically around the corner...

Does it come with contact glue from the factory?

Also, how I can remove contact glue without harming the rubber seal?

You might try acetone (aka fingernail polish remover, real cheap at drugstores, walfart) or Naptha (aka 'Ronsons lighter fuel' wherever lighters or cig's are sold). Both are very flamible and should be used with better than adiquate ventilation, better yet outdoors. You might try WD 40, for that matter. I'd start with WD 40 as the least harsh chemicaly. Lighter fluid is the next step up, and acetone the most chemicaly reactive. I use Acetone to clean horn pads but it may be to harsh for something soft, like weather strips. Acetone might melt the weatherstrips, would be my worry.

3M makes a "Woodgrain & Stripe Adhesive Remover". Part # 08908. It's made specificly to soften glue without damaging paint - but always do a test spot. With the rubber off the car *I* would try laquer thinner on it. Mostly 'cause I keep 5 gallons on hand & use it every day for all kinds of shtuff; & it usually melts glue very well. Don't think it will hurt the rubber, but afterward (after gluing it back in) treat it with aerospace 303 (a search will find that).

I use Norton General Purpose Cleaner. It dissolves glue very well and doesn't hurt stuff. I even got glue out of my cotton golf shirt, much to my wife's amazement.

I too keep a pot of thinner around. You can really clean some things nice. Just dont leave anything rubber in it for more than an hour or two. It will swell up to 3 times its size and may or may not go back to original.

Roger is right. I didn't mean to *soak* the rubber in laquer thinner. What I meant is to dip a rag in the thinner & wipe off the rubber (with the rubber off of the car). Should take the glue right off.
