I'm seaching for the best product for cleaning interior vinyl.
I've cleaned the interior this week end, but dirt stay in the porosity of the vinyl material and some other black mark from the center consol/seat friction.
So I need the best product that can be able to dislodge dirt but without harming the vinyl ?

I found that Westleys Bleach White for white wall tires cleans about anything but you do have to use precautions when using. After you clean the area with it rinse it very good with plain clean water then apply a good coat of Armour All. Works great on Tires, Vinyl, rubber floor mats, Vinyl tops and just about anything that is not a fabric. Use in a small area first so you can see if it will help you. Good luck.

I'll give the magic eraser another plus. I tried it after reading a few posts here and it works great. Much better even than the 3M vinyl and leather cleaner that I have.
They dont call it "magic" for nothing... thses little sponge look like nothing else than small white sponge...smell nothing...no visible chemical product on them...but when you use it ont the vinyl...the result is nearly immediate.
I used a towel to wipe the dirt off that the sponge have dislodged.
After that I rub the surface with Aerospace 303 and everything look like new!!
Cool. Sorry to hijack, but what about leather? I have some starting in the grain of my seats but I don't want to damage them with a stiff brush. Thanks
majic eraser is wonderfull, they now have them with a soap in them, but i havent used that one yet
generally when im cleaning the interior, i use a simple green with a wet wash rag i like simple green because it dosent have any harsh chemicals in it
also whis may sound ghetto, but a few weeks ago i cleaned out the wifey's jetta and i used antibacterial 409 kitchen cleaner, and it did a great job
also as for a reccomendation on carpert and interior stains,....... a few weeks ago my daughter decided to up-chuck her breakfast on the way to school all over inside my truck, and then it pretty much had to sit there and stink up my truck all day before i got home at nite to clean it. i bought meguires spot cleaner in a spray bottle, WOW the stuff works great !! next time you buy garpet sleaner, give it a try, i dont think youll be dissapointed

What I've found to work the best on grimy vinyl: Simple Green and Magic Eraser. Spray on Simple Green at full strength, scrub with Magic Eraser, then wipe dry and rinse with clear water. A spray bottle with water in it for the rinse works great.
This combination will make those grubby old panels look like new again.

Id be sparing with Simple Green, it does clean pretty well, but very harsh on some vinyls. Maybe use if for annual spring cleaning and other lighter weight stuff for week to week.

So I take it there are no downsides for using Mr Clean Magic eraser? I'll wait a couple days for responses... If everyone agrees, I guess I could give it a try then.

There's nothing in a magic eraser, no soaps or chemicals or cleaners. The magic comes from the fine texture. The only thing you have to watch for is surfaces that'll cloud up or look funny if you attack them with something mildly abrasive. That and paint. I nicked the lettering on my turn signal stalk and it took it right off.

Magic Erasers worked GREAT on my light gray interior panels, made them like new again! But they left a residue on the plastic parts, and the dark gray parts, which I could just wipe off with a paper towel.
The residue it leaves behind is broken down magic eraser, dirt, and a very fine layer of whatever you're cleaning. Just wipe it away with a wet cloth.
Other people claim that it's left behind a residue that doesn't come off. What they're seeing is a clean spot in their otherwise filthy wall, or a place that was worn from the abrasion.
when i got my 86 fiero, the car had been sitting for a while.there was mold and dirt and the dash, door panels, steering wheel, shirf knob. i sprayed brake cleaner on a rag and it took most of it off.

I tried the Magic Eraser on my former girlfriend's leather seats........... It started to take the color off. Thankfully she wasn't around when I did that. I would not use them on leather. Scott

AC Delco Vinyl & Upholstery Cleaner. Tried it for the first time while cleaning up my 84 Project. Spray on, rubbed with very soft brush, then wiped off. Works Great!
Saddle soap and a soft tooth brush. Very mild, no abrasives. I have also used 409 and Crud Cutter. The Magic Erasers are very good but you will get a deeper clean with a tooth brush. It takes longer but it gets into all the little texture lines. Remember to keep wiping the area off with a wet wash cloth so you're not just moving the dirt around.
