I'm preping my 87 GT for paint and have a few issues I need to address.

1) front nose sag. How do I correct this? The only thing I can think of is a heat gun. I did check the eggcrate and it is in place and not pushing it down.

2) Thers is some chipping of material near the windshield and sunroof gasket. The amount of material missing is small. What is the best material to fill these small gaps? Resin, super glue, bondo, ect? My largest fear is that the amoutn of material that needs to be filled in is so small that whatever I put in to fill it will not bond properly.

When I painted mine, I had little chips like that also. I used bondo let it dry and sended it smooth with the rest of the car painted it and it looked great! Not sure on the nose but some one will Chime in. What color are you going to paint it?

Are you sure all the reinforcements are in the nose. If its sagged out of shape, theres really no good way to fix it. Your prob better off finding a good used one with all the reinforcements included. Heating it will more than likely make it worse. There are places that will restore it, but that will cost more. I had an 84 corvette in here that had both covers, front and rear in really bad shape because it had no reinforcements. I actually think 86 (first C4) did not have them at all. We replaced both of them with fiberglass aftermarket ones that were cheaper than the original replacements.

The roof rot is typical Fiero. There was another thread with the same issue just a week or so ago where I described how I fix them. There of course is more than 1 way It comes from water seaping in around the seal and soaking into the matting in the roof material.

When i preped my 86GT the nose was kind of caved in a little. I simply cleaned the underside good, you can get to it without removing it from below. I then epoxied a thin strip of oak, yeah wood, to it and it look perfect, pshed the droup right out. Did that 3 or 4 years ago and still looks fine.
