my 85 gt Fiero has a oil leak, the engine was rebuilt about 6 months. It looks like its dripping off the oil pan but after makeing sure all bolts are tight and putting new drain plug in with new gasket it still leaks, It appears to leak after I have driven it and its park. I also have seen oil spots on the rear bumper at least I think thats what it is not sure. No smoke or oil is comeing from the exhaust pips thank god but I would like to get this fix, any ideas?

if it is indeed an oil pan leak as you say it is, then it is likely the pan gasket. either it was not installed properly or it was over torqued when put back together. However remember that all leaks go down, so just because the oil pan is soaked doesn't particularly mean the oil pan is to blame. i would inspect it really closely with a mirror and flashlight if need be to make sure that it is in fact the oil pan before taking it off. a bad oil main seal or one which was not seated properly can also look like an oil pan leak.

As far as it only leaking when in park. chances are that while you are driving the wind is blowing the oil all over and probably back to the bumper, coating things all over under there so that when you park the wind stops and the oil has a chance to let gravity pull it down. That is why it only seems to leak when stopped and in park i will wager.

check the oil pressure sending unit and oil filter they tend to make it look like an oil pan leak
and get some marking dye and a uv light
i helped me stop most of my leaks
i get a drop or 2 a day now lol (not a worry)

Shine a flashlight at the base of the distributor where it goes into the block, if you see oil puddled there it's the O-ring. If it's bad get a new one from Rodney, that's the special one that lasts longer than a plain one.
