I was out driving around town tonight in my 87 and I noticed that the oil pressure was low. I checked the oil and it's in the okay zone. Not sure if this problem is do to bad draingin from the top of the block to the pan or what. I am also getting alot of oil blowing out my tail pipe as well. After a few days driving I notice that the tail end of the car has a light oil film on it. Could this be the rings going bad or can I atribute that to the oil not draining down as well? Thanks for any advice and help everyone.

Hummm, rings, small hole in a piston, oil's not over full it sounds like?
I'd pull the plugs and look at them and maybe a compression check of the cyl.

oil is right in the middle of the safe zone. I was thinking rings. I will see if I can find my compression tester. What should the compression be on this 4cyl?

Not sure on the 4's but would guess 100-105 min. and they should all be within 10% of each other.
I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong.

Not sure about smoke coming out the tailpipe. I do know that I am getting a lot of oil blowing out the tailpipe. I have to wash the back of the car daily to get the oil off the backend.
