ok... the swap is done.. mostly only a few more wires and such... but the keypass is killing me this is out of a 1999 olds 88 i built the little 555 timer thing with specs for 50 hz at 50% duty cycle... should i rebuild it with the 30 hz or something signal or buy one of the comercial units... or can this be burned out of the system via programing... or should i look into getting a pcm with out the pass key if so what pcm would work... i will hit the junkyard on monday and try to swap it if they will

I would just program it, as it uses passkey 3, totally unrelated to the passkey2 system your trying to bypass it with.

Trust me on this one since I tried the same thing as you. You need to send it to someone to get the computer re-programmed and remove the passkey programming. As soon as I received the re-programmed ECM the car fired up right away. I was very happy to hear the rumble from under the decklid. Hope this helps.

The 555 timer circuit only works on the Passkey 1 and Passkey 2 systems - so you will have to program it out (prefered method if you have no use for it - some people, myself, use it as part of their anti theft, but otherwise I would just remove it) or you have to buy one of the built modules (make sure you get the one for your donar car).
