What Olds motor are you talking about? 442 was the performance model of the Cutlass meaning 4 speed, 4 barrel, 2 dual exhaust; 442. Depending on the year it could be anything from a 350 to a 455 big block. Of course Buick, Olds, and Pontiac motors (BOP) are all heavier and generally wider than small block chevys and you're close to running out of room with a chevy. There was a guy who put a blown Olds 455 in a Fiero but it was latitudaly (sp?) mounted and took some major fabrication and a differnet transaxle. But its cool as hell.

no one makes an adapter plate for BOP motors, you would have to custom make one, BOP motors are wide and long, the chevy motor is a much better fit

I think he means the Quad4 442. If that is the case, you'll also need the trans, which I would recommend anyway since it's got the LSD in it. Not sure if the 90's 442 came with an auto, even so, I'd rather have the 5 speed. For the life of me, I can't remember where I read about the 2.3/2.4 hybrid engine build that used the best parts from those engines to make the ULTIMATE Quad4. Maybe it was HotRod? I forget.

Quad442 came with a LSD, I didn't know that, I saw one in the salvage yard last year but it's gone now, what other tranny came with a LSD??
