Is there a coolant diagram/ sketch out there that shows how the system works for an 87 4cy. Im just wondering how it works since the flow has to travel front to back to front...

Not one I've really run across. What do you want to know? It 's just like any other car, the distance between the engine and the radiator and heater core is just longer. The Radiator lines run up an down both sides of the body right behind the rocker panels. That's why you want to be really careful if you take it to a shop to be worked on. Many don't know that and lift the car there and crush the lines.
