My gauge cluster is super dim and in some cases no lights at all. Is this an easy repair to open it up and replace the bulbs (i assume its bulbs) any comment on improvements etc. thanks

doubt it is the bulbs. More likely a bad ground. I would check the connectors in the gauge cluster and see how the ground looks, and then trace the ground wire down to the mount point on the chassis and make sure it is secure.

edit to mention that the printed circuits on these things tend to wear pretty thin at times.
