I just can't see pulling my steering column apart to replace the intermittent wiper switch.

I'm going with a custom dash so I was thinking of moving the wiper controls to the dash. Now I need to find a schematic.

I've got the Haynes & the Chilton manuals. Neither has this information.

These books are also useless for the power mirrors that I want to install. (got complete power doors off an '86 GT donor. I was able to get both ends of the connectors but the guy parting out the car wanted more money for the dash harness. (dunno what it's worth now without the door connectors or the center-console connectors but...)

So I'm looking for any/all schematics for my '85 2M4 notchie that will help with wiring the doors to the car.

All the rest aren't Pontiacs, so what does it matter?

Go here and download the 86 service manual, second from the bottom. It has everything you ever wanted to know.

Now I can contemplate installing the doors and making some new door panels.

Yay!!!

Edit: And a + for you for being such a great resource to our community.

It's easier to replace the switch than to rewire everything for an alternate switch location, but that's just me. I could probably do it in maybe 20 minutes or so.

Yeah, but James you're the steering column guru!

Kendall,

The thing with buying the harness is that all of the pain is on the guy parting the car--pulling the sub harness out of the dash harness isn't automatic or terribly easy. It involves a bit of climbing around and isn't much fun. By not selling you the harness he saved some trouble and discomfort. (I've pulled a couple for my own projects in the past 8 months.) For you, tho, having that nicely put together harness is so convenient and makes the installation so easy! Imho, you should have bit the bullet and bought the harness.
