I figured I'd get a better response if I started this over in a new thread. The EGR has been replaced, now to figure out the rest. Here's my tale...

Well.... I purchased this vehicle the other day and flew to pick it up- sight unseen, taking the word of another member that the car was in "turn key" condition barring a few minor cosmetic issues. Here's what I drove home over 7 hours with...

And then there's this?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... and then here's one reason my trunk doesn't unlock without a key...

My next question is going to be about the vacuum thing. The motor is a 2.8, with a 5 speed transmission. I remember the vacuum thing being hooked up on my last Fiero, but can't remember how.

Please feel free to shed some light on what's going on here.

Thats your cruise control---is there a cable dangling near by? The red connector should plug into it (not shown in pic) then 2 vacum lines will run under and around to the rear of it. Follow the 2 metal lines that run the trunkside--kinda under that cruise unit. Look back near the front firewall --over by that top thermo rad hose for the other end of your trunk popper connector. It`s probally hanging down in that area. Your cruise cable will be hooked to that aluminum looking thing with holes in it, attached to the black diaphram, then run the trunk side wall, then over to the thermo neck--you`ll see a slot to snap it into place there, then it will run to the back of the t.b.

When I get home tonight I'll try to get some picks of those components in our GT. It looks like the cruise has been fully disconnected. I don't see the servo, cable, or the vacume lines. If it has the original deck lid there should be a little sticker with a diagram of the vacume hose routing on it.

I'll try to take some better pics in the morning. I was told that the cruise control didn't work when I picked it up- (not before) I seem to remember a diagram on the deck lid...

Sent pics to via email. Couldn't get them to post on here.
Pic #4 shows the 2 rubber hoses coming from the pass side of the intake connected to two small metal tubes the run across the trunk wall. The top metal tube has a nipple (driver's side corner) that connects with a curved rubber hose down to the vacume cannister, then another rubber hose runs from the cannister up to the diaphram. There is another rubber hose that runs from the 2nd diaphram nipple to the single nipple end on the servo/solenoid. The 2 on the opposite end of the servo/solenoid don't have anything attached.

Hope that helps

Dave

ps. from your pics you are missing the vacume cannister that mounts under the diaphram, the servo/solenoid that mounts where the red connector is, the rubber hoses that connect them all together, and the cable that connects the diaphram to the throttle body. Also looks like the metal tubes have been replace by the rubber hoses that run through the bracket by the red connector up the vapor cannister.
