I have a 86 Gt which I swapped out a 3.4L DOHC motor. The car ran great but started to missfire.. I checked it out on the scope and found that the front three plugs were not fireing as they should. So I lifted the plug boots up and shook them and i can hear water splashing inside. So as I looked around I realized that my deck lid front seal was missing.
Does any one know where I can get one?
Thanks, Bob

You can find them on eBay or even in the mall from time to time. They were actually removed during a recall, but are safe to re-install if you can find one.

first off, let me scold you for parking your car outside in the wet weather.
someone (let me see if i can find him) on here sells an aftermarket weatherstrip if you can't find the factory one. exactly what Xanth said, ebay or the mall.
Why didn't you grease your boots with dielectric grease before you put them in? a dab in the wire to boot seal and also inside makes a huge difference. It's a silicone based grease and even if they were under-water the rain cant get in them.

Well, it wasn't rain,,,,it was water hose... I washed the car. I did use to dielectric grease which explaines why it ran as well as it did for having one bank filled with water. I think what really didn't help was the doubled humped valve cover. I think it could catch water and eventually leak into the plug wells. So I figured since the wires were subceptable to water, so was my harness and computer. I may come up with something if I cant find a seal.

Ok I fixed it. Call it overkill, shade tree or what you want but it seems to work. I installed a strip of flashing all along the bottom of the window. I used a tin brake to form edges to channel the water and secured it to the hinges.
