Hi is it posibble to get a picture of a 1984 pontiac Fiero wiper module board (these are not located in the motor itself like the others years they are underneath the dash somewhere .
Cause onthe one i am looking at the resistance is so burn't out that i can't see the color so i can't tell what is the color of the stripe to know what is the power of that resistance .

Kind of hard to tell form the pic. but do I see Brown Black and Silver?
If so that puts you is the under 100 ohms range which makes since if it's connected to the driver transistor next to it.

We need to change this resistor to repair the board. The problem is its impossible to determine the resistor value with the color code since the color rings have burnt and the resistance is now split in two.

The board is for the intermittent (variable speed) type wiper.

So if someone have the shematics of this wiper board ('84-'85 Fiero...unlike the '86 up, this board is not in the wiper motor casing but its located under the dash near the steering column) or better can give the color code in the right order, or even better a picture. We will be very grateful.

Bob , probably the power dissipation capacity of the resistor is probably in the range of 1/2 to 1 watt. But difficult to tell like that (with only the picture) It generally go by the size of the resistor. But we can calculate it if we know the voltage drop at the leg of the resistor * with the current that go through it.

[off topic on] Yeah. But I have a picture of a Citation 660 Turbo in one of my old Chevy Perf Parts Catalog here. It's a very nice looking car. I will try to find a picture. here what is said about it: Turbo 660

The Turbo 660 was a one-time specialty car built by the Chevrolet Design Center in Michigan. GM used the LE2, bolted on throttle body injection and a Borg-Warner/IHI RB6 turbocharger in a blow-through system. The boost was run at 5 PSI and alcohol injection helped minimize detonation. This engine produced 170 hp. It lacked the cowl induction hood, but had flared fenders and Goodyear P235/60R14 tires on BBS wheels, and a Canary Yellow paint job. Contrary to popular belief, only one was produced. It was built by John Pierce at GM and was used as a show car and to scare people. It was later disassembled with the drivetrain going to a 1981 X11 owned by John. The body went somewhere unknown; Pierce said the body is most likely gone.
[/off topic off]

Robert 2, sorry it took so long, I didn't want to post anything until I was sure I had a module to take some pics of.

Well I finally found it and here's some pics.

The whole 1984 Delay Wiper Module.

Now opened up.

A close up of the circuit board.

Looks like the resistor you need is: Red-Gray-Gold-Silver by my module.

That translates to a 2.8 Ohm resistor.

If you want a fullsize 6.1MP pic of the circuit board e-mailed to you let me know.

Robert 2,

e-mail with pic sent to your linked addy.

Hmm, looking at my circuit board pic it appears the resistor is cracked on my board too and it looks to have gotten a little warm.

wow, them things are alot different for the later year models. in fact, in the motormite "Help!" section, they now have GM wiper boards - because they are so sucky all around. $15 I think it was. and, of course, there is Rodney's kit, or just going and buying the Capacitors. its a 5 min job - if you've done it before. pull the screw, pop the board, unsolder/solder caps. usually just 1 bad one - but - they be easy & cheap - do em all. but - this for NOT 84's.....
