I'm trying to figure out what other pulleys and other do-dads I need to buy before I can do the swap. I've removed the intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, power steering unit, engine mounts, water pump assembly, throttle body, and some other do-dads. Below are some pictures to help you guys help me find what I need.

I think all you are missing is the alternator.

yeah, I forgot about that. But I thought a pulley went around the tube thing sticking out of the cam cover on the first pic.

Our digital camera broke, so I couldn't take a pic of the belt routing on our stock Northstar. However, this is how the belt is routed on a stock Northstar.

The belt goes from: Crank-->A/C Compressor-->Idler Pulley-->Alternator-->Power Steering Pump-->Belt Tensioner-->Back to the Crank.

That is for the pulley that drives the water pump. The water pump is on the rear of the engine, and is driven off a pulley on the back of the cam. There is also a belt tensioner that takes the slack off that belt. Hopefully someone else on here will have a pic of the water pump assembly to show you.

I have the water pump assembly, hopefully all the stuff is on there. So if I'm going to run my northstar with no a/c, all I really need is an alternator pulley and to relocate the idler pulley? I'll check the water pump thing to see if the thing is on there. + for the help.

Our A/C compressor froze up this past summer, so we bypassed our A/C compressor with a belt that was 10" shorter than stock. I'll try to get the correct length of the belt you'll need when I get home from work tonight.

Could you route the belt just using these three pullies and have it work?
Two ideas are shown below.
Edit: the blue dot is the tensioner and the black one is the alternator. What is the idler pulley for?
