Will winter is here and posts are a little slow so what the heck.
Good time to do a little body work.
I'm going to repaint the 85GT in the spring that I just got the 3.4 in.
Figured why not do another post on fixing a nose.

What the original damage looked like. This was the one I got for $124. 00.
The guy I bought it from said a little ol' lady hit him in a parking lot.

I have a replacement fender that will go on with the repaint.

I used the Bondo bumper repair mix available at Oreilly's.

Here are the nose before and after pics.
I first got out the heat gun and reformed the damage which made it look much better.

Then use a dremel to groove out the tear and re-enforced the back side after covering the front with tape to keep it straight.

It's back on the car now for the winter. Just gave it a little coverage on the outside until I sand the complete nose and will smooth it out the rest of the way.

Come on spring! The current plan is to go all white with royal blue rally stripes.

Cool info Dr, Thanks for taking the time out to post it. I need to ask you some more on the tear in the facia, I have one or two on that package I picked up a couple weeks ago. Have to ask you something else---Is there anything that you don`t know how to do ? E.E,. mechanic, computer wiz, welder, paint/body tech, fabricator, wood craftsman, and a couple other 100 things. How does one learn all this stuff ?

It would have been better to use chopped (with scissors) mat instead of the cloth on the back. The cloth won't absorb the repair material very well (or at all). Also, you're front "V"ing could have been a little deeper & wider. These differences would have given you the strongest repair.

I checked today and... this is the oldest I've ever been.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I didn't like the way the screen worked. I have some mat and will work the back over more when I work on the nose before painting in the spring.

The picture was taken after I re-enforced the back. And I did V the crack more before I added some to the front.

This was just done to straighten things up so I can drive it over winter until it warms up again.
I only plan on driving it during dry time and not in snow and salt.
