Anyone ever replace the light on the rear decklid switch? Have a number for the bulb. My switch is in good shape and works fine, wit hthe exception of the light.

Thanks

Rich

Never actually replaced it but its not very hard to do. Pull the old one out and pop the new one in. I don't know where your going to find another bulb, maybe the net. You can also use non blown bulbs out of other Fiero's if you can't find any. Electrothon was selling a stockpile of them not long ago.

Good luck with it!

No .... I'm pretty sure the bulb is soldered to the little internal circuit board that's part of the switch mechanism....

as talked about in this archived thread ...

damn that's an old thread.

no the bulb can not be replaced without some soldering.
that and finding another bulb.
i'm sure there are plenty of broken switches out there that still have good bulbs, you just need to have a good rocker to put on the base.

So sorry was thinking about the wrong bulb! Yes I see what you're talking about now. Buddy knows his stuff, he'll know. You can probably just soder the bulb contacts down for that matter, or use alot of dielectric grease

The Fiero Store has the switch for $ 14.00 plus shipping. Beware !! Looking at their Web Site can be expensive for any Fiero owner. It is like potato chips, you just can't buy one thing. Seriously, we need to support one of the good vendors to the Fiero community.

I am aware of the FS part, and I actually give them my money quite often, and have always been happy with their service and products. However this particular part is an aftermarket reproduction, and is the one item I have heard multiple complaints about the quality of the piece. My switch otherwise is in great shape with the exception of the light ..... and Buddygraigg is generously hooking me up in that department.
