Looks like a previous owner of my '85 had some trouble with a brake job and replaced the original banjo bolt with a different one. The problem is that the threads are wrong. I'm basing that on the fact that when the bolt came out, the threads from the hole seem to have come out with it. Makes it hard to put things back together.

I've purchased a replacement caliper, but this bolt won't thread into the hole correctly. So - can anyone tell me size / thread pitch, etc. that I'd need to be able to get the "right" one?

Thank you!

Looks like maybe I wasn't clear. The one I'm interested in is the one that goes through the fitting on the end of the brake line to fasten it to the caliper at the wheel, like this:

Thanks for the quick response, though.

D.

You were clear, I just misread. The parts book says it's a bolt, brk hose (M10 x 1.5) p/n 14094948.

Quick note: Torque specs:
Front brake hose to caliper bolt.
1984-85 == 39lbs
1986-87 == 30lbs
Rear brake hose to caliper bolt.
1984-85 == 39lbs
1986-87 == 15lbs
Front and rear brake hose to caliper bolt
1988 == == 33lbs
Also check the new insert note that Cardone Brand have been slipping in to their calipers, its alot lower.

Looks like that part number has been superseded (twice). Current part number is 88891786. Local Pontiac store doesn't have, but the Chev store stocks them. We'll see tonight if it's the right part....
