ok sooo i got a 84 SE and i got fuel running to the throtle body but it isnt staying alive we dumbed a little gas in and it started but didnt stay alive....... any ideas thanks guys

I had the same problem with a car that had been sitting a long time.

Fuel was spraying from the injectors but the car wouldn't start..... I would add some gas from a gas can into the throttle and the engine would start and run for a couple of seconds.

It turned out that the gas in the fuel tank was old and went bad...........After changing the gas to fresh gas the car started and ran like a champ.

Can you see the fuel injector releasing gas when you try to start it? The ECM won't start pulsing the injector until it sees ignition pulses. This can be from a simple bad connection around the distributer.

Can you hear the pump turn on when you crank over the key only for 3-5 seconds?
