Hi
Is the head gasket are the same for a 2.8 front and rear .
And what are the thing i have to beware doing the head swap ( and pieces i have to buy ) and is it prefarable to change both of them .
Cause the engine is freshly rebuilt and one head is done , and the place that did the job went bankruptcy . i have two heads with 79,000 miles from a 85 2.8 is there a dif between these and the one of an 87 2.8
Is it better to buy new stud for the manifold and the Y pipes
And most important how hard is it to do .

The head gaskets are the same left and right.
Their not hard to do if you don't include getting down to the heads.
If you should also replace the head bolts when you do them but that would be up to you.
The heads for all years of 2.8's are the same. Are the replacements good, not cracked etc.
For the small cost of the studs why not replace them.

It's the first time i see a motor that you have to take the whole top just to change a valve cover seal
usualy how long it should take to chang one head ?
And how do you find that the haed is good ?
The one i have was in a well running engine so it should be ok don't you think ? or i have to get it checked ?
