I was just wondering can I use aluminum tubing for nitrous line. From my distribution block to the nozzles is the only spot I'll be using the aluminum tubing. I have seen nylon tubing used and that just didn't seem very strong or am I wrong?

No you cannot use aluminum. Use braided SS line designed for nitrous applications, it uses a special inner liner (teflon, I believe).............Paul

Edit, or stainless steel hard lines, with double inverted flare connectors.

I've run Nitrous on quite a few race and street cars. Minimum spec's for the pressure lines should usually be 2000psi or higher. In the past on older systems I beleive the braided line was 1500psi. Aluminum tubing is'nt even close to that rating.

Try here for some braided line and the nylon line you mentioned. :

I'll take a look and edit the post if i can find the rating of the hard line I used in the past.

You are correct about the seeing nylon line. I've never used it though but they do have 1/8" nylon line that is suitable to run from solenoid to fogger nozzle etc. (But not from bottle to guage etc).

I believe what you guys are saying, but if the nitrous and fuel are running through aluminum lines there really isn't any pressure on them because there is an escape route (the nozzle). I could see if it was the lines going from the bottle to the solenoid , but these lines won't see any where near the pressure of the bottle to solenoid lines. Isn't 1/4" aluminum tubing stronger than 1/8" nylon tubing?
