I have searched the threads and cannot find the answer. Can anyone tell me the best adhesive for bonding together the material our front/rear facias are made from? I am trying to do my own wide-body type mods and need to bond together two sections of rear facia. Actually over-lay extra bumper ends over the original bumper ends.

SEM (brand name) # 39708. I've been using it for bumper mods & it works great. Any where you need it to be structural, you should chop up some fiberglass mat into very short strands & mix in with it.
If you buy another brand, make sure it's for RIM - that's what the bumper covers are made of.

Any 2 part filler / adhesive for FLEXIBLE parts is fine. Ive even used flexible JB weld with good results. When you piece 2 parts together, sand both parts at least several inches with # 36/ 80 grit on both sides of the parts. Then i put a layer on both parts by the joint, then lay some fiberglass matting into it while holding it together with tape or screws. Then while its still wet, i wipe more of the filler over the top of the matting and let it set overnite. Result is a very strong splice. You can then sand and add more flex filler as needed to blend the parts together.

this only needs sanding to stick . it needs no fiberglass mat to help it along just sand, apply , hold for the appropriate amount of time . they have quite a few different set times so if you want a quick set i think its between 30 seconds and three minutes i tried jb weld with fiberglass and one test boot to the bumper it all fell apart

Any time you do something *structural* you should add the 'glass as I suggested. It will make it TEN times stronger.
As for sanding, it's best to grind the surfaces with 24 grit, but don't go so fast/hard as to melt the rubber. That will cause it close the pores & nothing will stick very well. You can hand sand with 40 grit but it will take a LOT of time: you should have no unsanded surface area where you're bonding materials.
(I've been doing this shtuff for 35+ years)
