hello i`m new to the forum so first off i`ll introduce myself my name is Ryan and i`ve dreamed of owning a fiero ever since i can remember and up untill about a week ago it remained merely a dream, then i found an 86 gt 4 speed for $2000 and decided that i was gonna buy it. i ended up bartering the guy down to $1600 because the battery was dead and it needed new tires and a new windshield. The plus was the car olny had 114K kms on it. and lucky for me i had a spare set of 1996 pontiac grand am gt rims and tires sitting in my shed. so with a little switch the tire issue was no longer a problem. So after taking it for a drive and being a passenger for the first time since i`ve got it.. i looked down and realized there was coolant dripping out from underneath the dash... diagnosis: heater core issues (i believe) so i took out the heater core (with help from and old thread) and sure enough i tested it with some pressurized air and a bucket of water and it had a decent hole in it..so now my car is at a friend of the families garage getting checked out for what exactly it will need to pass a safety.. hopefully not too mcuh but who knows.. the car is older than i am (i`m 18 btw).. well i thought the car was decent looking before but definately could use a new paint job . which being a university student doesnt always lend well to..but my dad was nice enough to spend about 4 hours one day ( with me compltelty unaware and at work) to go otu and get some polish and rubbing compoud and he went over the entire car and buffed it all up for me..now it looks like it was meant to be an orangey red but still looks amazing and the second my mechanic saw it he was awestruck that i got it for such a good price..so that is currently where i am i will post some pictures and such later but for now thanks for reading Happy Driving Ryan

Welcome to the forum!!! You will not find a better and more knowledgable group of Fiero enthusiasts. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. Good luck on the car ... and as you probably already know .... it's an addiction.
Welcome to the Forum and I think you posted in the correct section. I am 72 years young and still love my Fiero. They are something about these cars that no other car can get you addicted like the Fiero can. Good luck and glad to hear from you. Don
