Heyy guys, a friend of mine has an '86 SE with the 2.8 in it. he asked me if I knew wat the water temp guage should read when the car is being driven. He is rewiring his fan to a manual switch for whatever reason and wants to know what he should let the car heat to before he needs to kick on the fan. I have no idea as usual so i figure ill leave it to the experts- you guys. thanx

When it reaches 220, then turn on the fan and let it drop back to 195.

The factory switch turns the fan on at 235°F. If it comes on by then, it's working normally.
