I got owned by a gen 1 headlight motor lastnight.
I like to claim that I’m pretty good at diagnosing the system.
I can usually have a problem figured out in about 10 minutes.
But this motor would not go up intermittently. Once you gave the knob just a slight turn it would work fine for several days.
I finally discovered after about 40 minutes working WITH JUST THE MOTOR out of the car. That this cold solder was the problem.
I probably have a few more grey hairs now.
So if you are ever fighting a limit switch problem that just isn’t making any logical sense, see if the wire can be pulled away easily.
