found a radio in a you pull it yard last week,heres a few pictures ,once wet , it was in a seat of a firebird with the window out and a piece of old delapidated(spelling) cardboard over it ,think it is usable,or should i just try it ,or trash it ,? can they be reworked ? later and thanks for any replys

Probably not worth the time/money to take it apart and repair it. If the case it rusted that bad then the boards and coils inside are probably worse. I've witnessed bigger miracles, but I'd say no.

Looks bad, and i bet its corroded internally, but if its free to try why not plug it in and see?

got it in and it works,all buttons and lights,well the tape deck works ,but it only plays fast forward,but the rest is a great sounding radio ,the clock and all works,not to bad for $2,if i can get it to stop playing my tapes fast i'll be ok ......later (oh,and it does look good if the car)

Mine is working perfect got it free ( friend ) all i nees is around 5 or 6 light but cannot find what they are and where to buy them . I live in Canada ( Québec )
Try http://replacementradios.com I think they do a flat rate belt drive repair for 50.00, there`s a belt repair kit out there--just can`t find it this second.

thank you interceptor429 is your name cause you own a 429 interceptor Mercury ? friend of mine usd to have one Yellow as for the radio the one i have goes perfect all i need is the bulbs inside have a few burn't and i think that the one you have are fitting in mine

yes ,the name is that ,i had (wish i still did)a 71 ford ltd (detective, 2dr car, silver,dog dish caps)it was a ultimate sleeper car 370 hp,465 ft lbs of torque 71 429 p.i.,sway bars front and back ,trans oil cooler c6 hvy duty trans 3.55 posi rear end,,but with gas at these prices ....guess i'm glad its gone ...and sorry my radio worked hope you find the lights your looking for ,later keith
