93-95 camaro 3.4 push rod drops right in. You have to move the timing cover, water pump and intake and misc. items over from the 2.8.
Also have to redrill the starter mount hole to the other side of the block. Don't have to make any wiring changes.

Do a search there are lots or post on doing it.

Why not just go with a 2.8? that would be the simple way .Unless you are looking for some higher perfomance motors , in wich case ther are a lot of options depending on your pocket book.

There are a lot of 3.4's out there for about $650, why put a 2.8 back in when you have everything on your worn out 2.8 that you'll need for the conversion?

I agree with triker, your getting a better deal by swapping in the 3.4.I'll asume you dont know how to pull an engine or know wear to start.First I'll answer your question,if you look in the phone book under engines you will find places that sell engines for as low as $400 (plus core),Nationwide Engine supply 1-800-606-0676.If you live in a small hick town then you will need a phone book from a big city,to find the neariest engine exchange. Most auto parts stores buy from Nationwide then resell them for a higher price like Pepboys or Kragen.Call some of your local wrecking yards and find out if they pull and deliver engines. That way if you do find a 3.4,you wont have to pull the motor.Be sure to tell them exactelly what you want, like the engine, computer, wireing harness....I wouldn't recomed that you drill and tap the starter, have a shop install that for you and the engine. If you still cant find a wrecking yard that pulls engines place an add in the paper saying you want someone to pull and deliver a motor for $$$ (again tell them Exactely what you need and wear the car is located, show them). When the motor is out and ready to go,drive your car over to a shop that will do the engine swap and have them deliver it to the shop, that way you dont have to move the engine twice.Make sure if you need anyting off the doner car get it as soon as possible, because cars usually dont stay long at the wrecker.

Welcome to the forum, The 3.4 is basically a 2.8 with bigger guts (internally) to keep it simple. With having to do the swap anyway--you would be better off buying the 3.4 , then swapping all the external parts over from your 2.8, there are a couple modifactions as mentioned above--nothing to tedious or hard to do. If you want to pump up the HP even more there are also other (goodies) you can buy for it, either way you look at it---you really will be doing the same amount of work & 3.4 `s are plentifull and priced right.

94-95 Camaro/Firebird should fit the bill.
