There is a lipstick red that looks like it flows when it is on the car. I've seen some Chryslers of late using it. It used to be a pretty popular hotrod colour 30 years ago because it looked liquid. Any paint shop will know what you are talking about if you mention it.

If you like a nice dark pearly red, I suggest Candy Apple Red

I too am looking at red for a paint color and as someone mentioned on another post the best way you can tell is find a car like the color you want and get the paint code because it is hard to picture what it will look like from a paint chip. I know that some other makes of cars will look different than the Fiero but you can get an idea of what a color looks like on a large surface. I think I am going to go with red from a 2002 Ford supercrew. It`s called Vermillion red.

Thanks for the input! I think I might go with a Ferrari Red. I have the paint code (H8436 - Dupont) and I should be able to mix it without any problem. Although I have seen other reds I wouldn't mind going with. Anyway Thanks Again.

I like the stock red. If you look at one that is painted fresh like Skitime's it's beautiful.

This is the color red that I had mine painted. Its a candy apple with some pearl and ebony, and a hint of metal flake.

I have a 1988 GT that is painted in the Honda Color Milano Red. I like the way it looks. Honda has another red San Marino Red that is a bit too dark.

Wow! Now that is the kind of look I'm looking for. Torch Red? Is that factory red? And what year does it come on? If I can find out the year and Make, I can mix some up. I just don't have a paint guide to pick from so I have to find the number and pull up the mixing guilde.

Thanks.

Torch Red is a standard GM color that's been used on Corvettes for many years. I got the paint code from a 2004 Corvette Z06: Code 70V, BC/CC #9075 (BC/CC = Base Coat, Clear Coat)

Red Paint costs more. I painted a 91 s-10 Sonoma red and sold it for 7900. Yes look at other cars, I painted My Grumman step Van 04 Mustang yellow, Happy, Yes, than they changed the color of the mustangs.

I recently painted my '86.5 GT in '03 Victory Red. It is a GM color, and came on Grand Am's that year. I am not sure what else it came on. The color looks AWESOME. Pictures are here:

I guess you'll have to cut and paste. Sorry, I am barely literate with computers.

This is the color I chose to paint my Fiero - It is a Candy Apple Red Acrylic Laquer w/Clear Coat that I purchased on e-Bay for $100 a gallon. The actual color under daylight is just a tad darker than what you see here. Color correction on most digital cameras is not perfect, particularly for reds, which often show an orange tint.

This one shows the true color best

I kind of like Ford "Laser Red".
It's the bright, almost pearl looking red that some of the late 90s Mustangs (and Expeditions and trucks to a lesser extent) were painted. The only trouble is, it's a 3 step paint. It'll be expensive, and harder to match if it ever gets damaged.
There's another bright metallic red that's similar, that was available on 04 and 05 (I think) Trailblazers. It looks similar to Laser Red, but it's supposed to only be a 2 step.
